One of the best ways to appreciate the vast and complex variety in the natural environment is to close your eyes and listen. We hope you will be asĀ amazed as we are. Because these recordings are intended to preserve the maximum value for the research community, in most cases, we have preserved the spacing between the animal’s songs and calls on the principle that the rate of vocalizations are of value as an accurate record of the animal’s behavior. Some of you will find this tiring, sometimes single bursts of song, and then background noise for many seconds before the animals sings or call again.
